I know this is an old thread, so I don't know if I will get any responses but I will try.
The age of the thread also probably reflects the age of my drier, so I accept that replacement rather than repair may end up being the answer, but this has been very reliable so I'm inclined to go for a fix if it is possible.
So here is the follow up question :
Having removed the lid, I am having a problem removing the back. I have removed the all of the screws and removed the additional "tear-drop" shaped metal housing on the back ; however something at the bottom left (looking at it from the back) seems to be preventing the back from coming away.
I'm reluctant to use brute force as that's likely to break something. Has anyone done this before with this model and have any ideas what might be preventing the back coming off.
(Incidentally, I'm sure now it is not the belt itself that is the problem as it is still attached to the drum and rotating with it - but I need to get inside to see what the problem is : the symptom is that the drum is not rotating with power on!)
GRATEFUL FOR ANY HELP OR ADVICE.
