Mend Kenwood Chef 901 Replace Replacing Access

how can i replace the small pulley on a kenwood chef 901?

the small pulley needs replacing on my 1978 kenwood chef 901. i have tried but cant seem to see how to access it without coming at it from below (i.e. removing the motor) as the top (metal) cover is all in one.
