daf lf 45 will not start?

My daf 45 is starting but it takes long to start about 30 seconds what is the problem

How do you start a Daf 45 with the Cab over, I need to check the alternator is charging OK
And it wont start on the Key with the cab up ?

yeah behind the ecu is the cooling plate ,that's the seal that has popped ,on your version of the LF .euro 3 ,if you over pressurise the fuel sysyem with the hand primer it pops that seal.should be a case of just removing ecu and refitting the seal ...out of interest ,,did the filter body behind the brass nut have crap in it ?????? make sure the ecu mounts are in perfect condition if not renew ,otherwise they elongate,and shake the ecu which can cause it to fail,apart from also causing it to fall off

Cleaned the filter housing and the inline filter at the tank and it tried to start.I then discovered a fuel leak from the right side or the brain just above the fuel filter.Is there a seal that can be renewed in this area .Thanks

with the plug disconnected it should give you max rail pressure in ther region of 1500 bar..although you are getting fuel..a common issue is the pre filter at the tank .if you strip it down ,remove large nuts you may find it is full of debri

make sure you check every fuse ,and that every relay is secure ...i said every fuse as the diagram is terrible

did it start with the plug undone from the pump?...
the immobilisers are pretty bullet proof..only problem is usually the chip in the key is loose...if you have a spare key try that ...it has been known for operators to only have 1 key programmed ...as when programming of the keys is done they all have to be done at the same time ,the low air light ignore ,yhe alternator light is that due to the ignition being on or is it an alternator warning ???

Undone the plug and had a good supply of fuel.The red warning light is low air pressure,orange lights are ABS and alternator.Could the chip in the key be the problem or some other kind of demobiliser

it's on the N/S/R of the engine below the compressor..i would suggest you undo the metal pipe at the common rail and see what the fuel supply is like ..if no supply what so ever then if the pipes are clear ,then the lift pump on the main fuel pump may have sheared it's drive ..if so then a complete new pump unit is required...if you undo the plug and it starts it will run like a bag of worms with an red engine warning...unfortunately if you currently have warnings on the dash it would be advisable to have them read in case that is the reason it won't start ...also make sure the batts are 100% charged as when they get below 20 volts the engine ecu shuts down...

is the chip loose in the key ??? hold to ear and shake if you hear a rattle ,carefully open key and refitchip in slot
