Central locking?

Hi, im having a problem with my central locking, only when i lock the nearside driver door then i can lock the rest of the car from the driver side door, other wise when i lock from the driver side door, the offside door doesnt even do anything but the back doors lock and reopen, and the driver door will be the only one closed.
