xerox xrx-8x shredder not coming on?

the lights do not show jam, stopped working and does nothing,and was working fine on previous shred.whats wrong?

I too have the xrx-8x shredder and it won't come on. Is this an inferior model OR ??/

I just called 1-866-88-XEROX and they told be to try it without the plastic trash liner. Voila! Then they suggested I could still use the plastic liner, but tear a whole where the safety switch receiver is on the edge of the basket. The safety switch is right next to where the electric cable comes out.
