how do i check the electrical circuite on fuel vauxhall astra 2ltr diesel?

my car just stopped and would not fire up again i have checked the fuel system and there is no diesel being drawn up from the tank is there an electric pump although i have looked for an external pump or is it fitted internal does anyone know how to check it has the eco engine fitted it is a 2000 on a v plate

sounds like the ecu or diesel pump very common problem sad to say very expensive to mend
