Mend Diplomat HJA2440 Fan Despite Worked

How can I fix my Diplomat HJA2440 extractor fan?

Annoying despite my flat being a brand new conversion, this extractor fan hasn't really ever worked properly.

After the first few uses it made a really loud screeching sound and then shudder to a halt. Its never worked since. The lights work, but the fan doesn't. Fuse doesn't need replacing. Anyone got any suggestions?
