Indesit IDL 40?

On my dishwasher the 1st light flashes and sounds like the pump is going but nothing inside is happening. I followed other post and tilting it and it works again (water comes out each time), but then starts flashing again once run again after 5 minutes. Would I be correct in assuming there is a leak? if so is there any common places to start with? any help much appreciated......
