Mend Fisher & Paykel Pump Drain

Fisher & Paykel smartdrive- where is the pump?

After washing a sheepskin mat, like I have many times before, the water will not drain, and sits there full. The machine makes a noise but nothign happens.

ANother post had the poster being advised to get access from underneath and check the pump.

My husband has tried to get access to the pump. The only access we seem to have is a panel in the front which we pull off. Which is the pump and how do we access it?

Would rather avoid a ridiculous call out fee if we can do it ourselves easily!

THAT was VERY helpful thank you Mike.

I'll try it on my GW709AU

[Your suggestion/info] It [pump] is on the bottom, under the drum. Get all the water you can out from the machine. Unplug from the wall. Tip the machine over about 45 degrees. Disconnect two wires from the motor. Put a bucket under pump motor. Pull outwards on the plastic catch lever (between the pump and the bottom of the drum) while you twist the motor/pump anti clockwise. After a 1/4 trun the whole thing lifts right out. Clear the obsticle(s) and put it back-in (the opposite way to how you took it out).

The way i did it when ours jammed up was to take off the top and contol board, then unclip and lift out the drum. This is heavy when full, you will need 2 or 3 guys t lift it out. Take it outside and flip it over and the pump is screwed to the bottom of the drum. Good luck.

On our smartdrive excellence 6.5kg machine it is on the bottom, under the drum.

Hope this is helps you with your pacticular machine/model.
