How can I fix my Bosch WFB 4000 with intermittent pump fault?

My Bosch WFB 4000 Washing Machine has an intermittent fault with pumping out the water. There is no blockage in the pipes. Is the problem likely to be the pump or somewhere else in the system? Can anyone suggest what might be wrong or what I might need to look at?
