Thank you very much for your reply.

It was the lid switch. I paid the call out fee and got someone in. He replaced the switch but also pointed out another part which was corroding and he replaced this as well to save another failure in the not so distant future.

If I had have diagnosed successfully and ordered the parts myself I would have saved the call out but it would have also added at least a few more days and I couldn't go any longer without it I am afraid.

Thank you again for your assistance.

James try the following:
1. Power on at wall but off on panel. Press & hold water level down button and power on button together. You will get 2 beeps and lights change. Let go of buttons.
2. Press spin speed up button until just the medium speed light is on.
3. Lift lid up & down. The 2nd wash light from left on top row wil turn on when lid open & off when closed. This will prove the lid switch is working.
4. Then open lid & push the bowl toward the out of balance switch in right rear corner. 4th wash light from left will turn on and off to prove out of balance switch is ok.
5. Press power off button which will put you back to normal mode..
Let me know the results.

Some further info.

Not been moved. Water, hot and cold, definitly on. Filters in hoses cleaned but mostly clean already. Tried out hot only and cold only, neither successful. Tried all water levels and all wash cycles. Always same result, on pressing start one beep and nothing happens. Took awhile to even find the switch on the lid. Looks like it is an induction switch so no easy way to check its function. There is nothing else I can think of as a lowly handyman. My wife tells me it has been playing up for awhile but in the past has always eventually started after a number of attempts, just not anymore.

I have just followed the suggestion to attempt to get some fault codes. I hit start and left it. No beeps and no codes. However, after about 15mins it started filling ?

Faulty lid switch, faulty out of balance switch, faulty wiring, faulty RPS on motor or fault in control board. Take your pick. Could be any one of them. Not possible to say which exactly without being there to check. Suggest you press start & leave it sitting for a few minutes to see if it starts beeping and showing an error code. If it does then take a note of which lights are on and which are off along the top row, from left to right. Post the result back here.
