You have to remove the yellow button. Looking at the button from above there is a tiny hole between it and the main handle. Insert a small but strong long thin screwdriver into this hole to lever the button out [in the end I found a metal kebab skewer worked best]. The button has a locking tab at the base and using the skewer you to need to push it away from the handle and lever up at the same time. For a diagram go to www.ukvacuumspares.co.uk/_private/misi.htm
With the button off you remove one torq screw and you can pull the whole switch unit up and out.
You may slightly damage the button and the housing but mine went back fine.
