Renault Scenic Expression 16V driver window is not working. ?

I was playing with my window and it started working, sort of. It was going up and down in stages if that makes sense. Is this still likely to be the regulator?

Out of interest the speaker in the drivers door crackles every now and then could this be linked in any way?

just a thought....the panel with all the window switches...lever it off with a screwdriver and disconnect the plug to the non working window and plug it into another switch to see if it is just the switch before pulling the door apart to change the regulator...(but it will be the regulator,trust me)

I would think it's not the switch...this is a standard Renault problem (both laguna's i have owned had this happen). It is the window regulator mechanism (wire has frayed or snapped). £20 from ebay for a replacement but a slight bugger to fit.
