hi we have an ex rac transit van 2.4 2002 we have had a number of new things done to it new fule pump ect now we can not turn the crank by hand dose any one know what this could be and what we have to do to fix it thank for any help.
i would start by removing the starter,and see if it turns with it removed.this engine is noted for dual mass flywheel giving problems-so this may be at fault[ especially if it has been welded ,]just a point ,are the fixing bolts the correct length ,if too long they may be fouling on flywheel!

hi no it will not move any way with a spanner we had a new starter motor fitted and when we tryed it with key to turn it over it just clicked so tryed to turn it with spanner and its just stuck

will it turn either way using spanner on crank -if it is touching valves ,then it should turn anti-clockwise a bit,what happened to cause this problem ?

when you say turn by hand I assume you have a spanner on it?
check the timing?.if the valves open at the wrong time they hit the piston crowns locking the engine up
