LG WD14316RD Damper leg removal ?

Does anyone know how to remove a leg damper pin on the base of the washing drum ? It looks like a giant raw plug ( split length ways ) with a hex head .

I've tried to twist it out , hammer it out , pull it out but it won't budge . I need to get into the casing of the washing drum to remove a bra wire . To do so it seems i have to remove the damper pins attaching the damper legs to the underside of the washing drum .

Any ideas or help would be grateful
