Fisher Paykel error code 011010000 (104) hums and code lights - Won't turn ?

we were running the washer and it had popped the circuit. I reset the circuit and restarted the washer. It still had water in it so I tried advancing it to the rinse/spin cycle to drain it out and restart the load.
The pump would start and you could hear it pump water for about 2 seconds then it would stop pumping and then pump for 2 seconds again. This cycle happened about 5 or 6 times and then it would shut itself off.
I restarted and it went thru the same procedure about 4 more times. I was hoping that it just needed to "catch" and fix itself. That didn't happen.
I unplugged it and let it sit for 10 mins to try that.
Now when I plug it back in, I hear a buzzing noise and get the code 104 on the lights. I can't get it to go beyond that.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dennis

Code 104 is a communication error between the display PCB and the main controller PCB. It can be caused by a faulty display pcb, faulty main controller PCB, faulty drain pump or faulty RPS on motor. Rather than buy parts just in the hope of striking the right one, I suggest you call a service company who can come & test things properly & should have a spare PCB to use as a test one to isolate the problem. Much cheaper that way.

I forgot to add that it is a GWL10US
I drained the tub and removed the inside tub and used a sponge to get out all of the water. I leaned the washer over on its side and plugged it in. the hum is definitely coming from the pump motor. Someone once told me how to test the pump using a voltmeter but I forgot how.
Seems that the pump is probably kaput. However, would that cause the error when I plug in the washer? I don't want to order a pump and find out that it is something else.
Thanks again,
Dennis
