water not getting hot whirlpool adg7540 dishwasher?

i have taken the heater element out and connected it to a seperate 240 volt supply and it gets hot.I have also taken out the ntc and tested across the terminals and do get a reading on the ohms scale and a reading on the continuity mode but no bleep sound.i have had the cycle running and at the end the rinse light is on and the indicator light is flashing and bleeping.can anyone suggest anything please?. thanks
