Hi terry,
You will need to remove the on/off button by using a small flathead screwdriver. insert to the inside part of the button (nearest the wand) about 1/2" (if you put it in to far you will damage the plastic lock) and use a sharp knife blade to gently assist the button out (on the outside of the unit. This will let you get into the top of the button mechanism. you will now need to use a "tork" scredriver to remove the button/cable carraige. the switch will be accessible to reconnect the cable using terminal female spades connectors
