spear and jackson 600w hedge trimmer about 2 years old trimming hedge today after about 10 mins trimmer started to slow down and then stopped left it for about 5 mins it started again but after about 1 min slowed down again and stopped now won't start at all- noticed also that when trigger was released the blades took a long time to come to a halt-- any ideas
my hedge trimmer fell off it's shelf and now will not start. I have verified that the socket and extension cord is good, so electricity is getting to the trimmer.

as a diy job you will have to dertermine if the motor is actually running without the blades cutting, if so the gears have shed their teeth which you may be able to purchase, if the motor doesnt run and it smells of laquer then its prob as dear to fit a new motor as buying a new trimmer
