what you have is called a rivet link.you need to put a seal on each of the two pins then slide the link onto the chain then put the other two seals on then you need to put bthe plate on the side of it.its a very tight fit and is possible to do it with some mole grips.when you have the plate level with the pins you need to support the back of the link with a solid piece of metal like an iron block then get a hollow pipe i.e a wheel spindle and tap the plate on until approx 1mm of the pins is poking through then get a hammer and peen the edges of the pins over making sure the back of the link is still firmly supported,this will take two people to do really.i can do one myself in approx 2 mins but i do have a chain rivetting tool :)and do about 10 chains a week mainly 530 chains on superbikes.ok good luck p,s a good tool for the job is about 90 quid!made by a company called whale.
