scantronic 9600 installtion default?

I am an engineer - I am going to power down a Scantronic 9600 and default the programming. I know how to do this - however I feel it would be better if I had a manual to instill confidence. I think it is power down - remove NVM power up battery first then mains (with out load) then it defaults to its usual.

Does any one agree - or have i missed something
