Need Help With My Sony Walkman NWZ-E344?

Someone gave me a Sony Walkman Player NWZ-E344, I went to get a Wall Charger that is for USB connector only. I was told that the wall charger would work. I only used the wall charger once. That was the last time I used my Walkman as will. It wont turn on, wont charge from the computer. I even reset it to see if that would do anything to help. Now when my computer isn't detecting it. Even when it does it says hardware may not be working properly. I don't know what to do now and I am really upset about the whole thing. And the person that gave it to me just gave me the Walkman and earphones and USB cord. So I don't even know how long they even had it. Does anyone know what I can do to fix it???
