Mend Mercedes-Benz C180 Start Battery Starter Turns

How can I start it?

I have a Mercedes C180 1998. The vehicle will not turn over. The battery is ok and the starter motor turns when a live is put to the solenoid. With the ignition switched on and a live to the solenoid it still will not start. Is there a fuel switch or ignition switch I can check? Can switches and the ECU be bypassed?
