how to fix kenwood fp730 blender?

my blender wont blend! the blades will spin fine when theres nothing in it but as soon as i add any food they stop. They bottom components elements spin fine, as do they blades when nothing is in the blender. I even tried gently poking the blades while the blender was on and this didnt stop them spinning, only food does!
