How to repair a double glazed window lock?

I have a double glazing window lock, that when you move the handle up to open the window, the lock mechanism does not operate and the window is permanently locked.

Does the lock need replacing or can it be repaired and how to do it.

Take handle off & try turning lock with screw driver, if the lock is at fault you need to replace it, not easy as first you have to get window open only way to do that is to deglaze it & try to push sash to one side but the bigger the window is the more chance you have. For new lock look on line at windowparts.co.uk
