Further to my previous post, having reset the sensors as described, the machine worked once or twice then stopped heating again. I have now replaced the sensors (ca 5 quid online) and now all seems good again.

One more success for Barn ! I used the same needle trick kindly provided by a couple of responders and so far so good. My wife too was eyeing replacement driers before I tried this fix!

yes the needle in the back of the sensor worked for me, it pops out with a click when done. Great stuff, thanks.

If replacing the sensors and heating elements does not work (test first with a meter to see if there is a circuit through them) then it could be the sensor at the top of the drum look above you, just inside the drum when you open the door. Two screws hold it in place and it can be extracted downwards but you will probably have to take the top off the machine to clip the cable tie to let the wires have enough slack to pull down so that you can replace the part.

Tried Barns idea to get the indented sensor (red spot) to pop out,but didn't work,so got a new sensor kit from the local repair shop. Part number "Thermostat Kit IMS 1701557 / C00206292". £21.00 inc VAT and a few moments of my time to fit. Perfect. Remember the one with the red spot goes to the left as you look at them from the back.Saved a lot of money as my wife was insisting on a new dryer.

i also follwed barn's instruction and it worked, thanks , also if you look behind the sensor you can see a tiny hole, just big enough to fit a small sewing needle to push the indent carefully out to reset, thanks again barn

Barn strikes again! (see bottom of page for Barn's solution). Thanks a lot for that. p.s. on my model 37747 there was one screw by each sensor that I had to unscrew so as to free up the sensors, so I could get at their undersides - but that was easy enough. p.p.s. we probably stopped the drier mid-cycle and left a hot load in there - so beware.

The same happened to my Creda tumble dryer, it was not heating eventhough it was spinning. The 'water full' symbol was on eventhough I could not see it due to the window light shining on it. When I emptied the water container the light was still on. I then waited for about 15 minutes for the light to go out and lo and behold the dryer started spinning and the heater worked! This water light is very difficult to see when it is on. Hope this information is of use to you.

the motor bearings are screaching how do go about removing the motor from the side. Are there any mechanical drawings of this?

Barn's answer worked fine for me too. Thanks a lot for that Barn. However, I did find it easier to use a small piece of Gaffer Tape to make the indent disappear.

UNPLUG THE DRYER ....... take the little panel off the back then the bar then the big panel you should now be able to see the heater on the top of that you will see 2 sensors with wires in either side feel underneath the sensors one will be domed and the other indented get some blue tac warm it up so its sticky and place it over the indent then pull it off quickly you have just reset your thermostat reassemble and try
