I have an older Murray widebody lt mower. I mowed the front lawn with no issues, moved to the back and it stalled. It sounded like I was going through grass that was too thick. The mower shut off and wouldn't start again. When I turn the key, I hear a small click and a whine/squeak noise. The battery is charged and I am getting a good spark from the solineoid. Do you think it could be the starter?
Sounds like a possible seized engine - have you checked the engine oil? If seized then starter will be unable to turn and makes a high pitched squeal sometimes.

There are sensors on the mower (not sure where) but I was told by my uncle who works on them to unplug all your safety sensors and it will fix the problem (they go bad farely quickly). I too am having the same problem, I will text it and then update this post.

sound like starter not engaging, could be build up of dirt. sometimes a tap on the motor will free it, but really needs to be taken apart and cleaned.
