laguna interior lights stay on?

I have recently bought a 2001 Renault Laguna and have a problem with the interior lights. When i get in they come on as normal and go off after a few seconds, however after starting the engine if you then open a door the lights come on but do not go off again even after driving away,i have to stop the engine and start again!!!!! Any help to sort this greatly appreciated
