mitre saw gaurd will not swing clear for cut?

I have a taurus laser mitre saw modelapf1x-jf2-210/msm6004, It was working ok but now the blade gaurd will not swing up for cutting? I can swing it up manually but thats not good cos I have to let go of the piece of timber to do that !
I think there must have been a spring pull device that maybe fell off?
