My cistern makes a noise every 1 to 2 Min ?

How do I stop it from making that noise sounds like it's trying to fill up all the time and the toilet trickles when it makes the noise

Take the lid off the cistern - operate the flush and watch what happens - on the moving arm there will be a little nylon screw to shut off the water - screw it in to shut the water off sooner - do up the little locknut.

The inside the cistern it may have a "fill-line" for the water level.
