how do i fix my citroen saxo 1.1 high engine revs?

I had a vtr saxo with same problem.Turned out to be a dodgy connection on the throttle body sensor plug.Try moving the plug a little in situ to see if the tickover speed goes back to normal.I had to eventually tie the sensor plug to it's fitting with fine chord to cure over revving.Hope this helps.
