Mend Redring Expression 500 Shower

redring expression 500 prob?

My shower is about five years old and suddenly it has started to smell of burning after about five minutes. Took it apart and the wiring at the top of the pump has burnt away from the connection. Stripped it back and rewired it but has happened again. any clues?
