To access the mechanism for a Waltham Regulator clock, take off the hands and the face. You will be able to see the mechanism behind the face.
To take off the hands, unscrew the little nut in the middle, then slide off the the minute hand, then pull the hour hand off. The minute hand will fall off easily. To remove the hour hand you will need to grasp it firmly with your thumb and forefinger and tug gently.
To remove the face after removing the hands, unscrew the three screws at 3:00, 9:00 and 12:00.
When you reassemble the clock, do everything in reverse order. The hour hand is held in place by friction. When replacing the minute hand, make sure you line up the flat sides of the hole in the hour hand with the flat sides of the bolt on the mechanism before tightening the nut.
