Matching radios to vehicles?

How do I match a radio part number to my vehicle?
I have a 2001 Caravan and am replacing the AM/FM/Cass with part# P04858540AH, an AM/FM/Cass/CD. The connectors look the same but are positioned vertically on the replacement rather than horizontally as on the current unit.
