how do i lock my clio van boot?

i have just bought a clio van and the central locking does not work, i replaced the batterey in the key and still nothing, i can lock both front doors manually but their is no lock on the boot to do it manually. therefore is permanently unlocked, the central locking button on the dash doesnt lock it either, help please.
