Hi,
I have a mixer tap on my bath, and the pressure is good, the shower works great, but today the water wont change from "shower to bath" even when i press the "collar" bit down, it still comes out of the shower not the taps..Any suggestions, im a single mum, cant afford a plumber and not overly good at DIY though willing to try!!

I have fiddled with the collar but it doesnt come off, i cant see any screw or nut on the outside, and inside its just clear apart from a little spurt of water when i push collar down, although the water still is coming from the mixer bit for the shower, not out of the taps. I guess ill have to call a plumber though can see its probably not a big job, although the plumber wont see it that way..Many thanks for your help though

you need to see if the collar"will come off, it may screw off , or there may be a screw holding the collar on , all the collar is doing is open a way for the water to the taps or shower,and the bar that it pulls up is stuck, you need to get a pliers, and pull the bar thats under the collar up and down untill it works as normal, and then put the collar back on , have the cold tap running when your working on this, try this first,,
