Mend Panasonic AG-2600E-P Repair Vhs

how to fix my panasonic vhs ag-2600e-p?

I cannot power it up. The manual says to check that
Timer Record Function is OFF,without power I can`t tell.
I have never used that function anyhow and the machine
has been OK till a week ago. I have tried a different lead
with a tested fuse but no luck.
I`m guessing I`ve had the machine about ten years, but
with no excessive use.
