how can I fix my Seiko chiming wall clock?

Chuck, you're brilliant! I would never have figured this out. I can't thank you enough. Pressing the pm button a certain number of times was exactly what I needed to do. I could not find an answer or a manual anywhere!! Thank you!

found this model clock at thrift shop. hands of clock swinging. How do I find the right time to set the clock? how interesting the chimes I have no idea what to do to correct. It is a clock of quality. I have pushed the buttons many ways to get it to chime, chimes are great, but no action. Help

To set this clock, turn the time adjust wheel on the back to set the time of day.
To sync the chimes to the proper hour, press either the AM or PM button the number of times+1 of the hour displayed on the front dial.
(if time is 8:20pm, press the PM button 9 times.)
It will sync the next time the minute hand passes the top of the hour. However do not try this if the minute hand is between 45min past the hour and top of the hour. After the first sync the quarter hour chimes will sound.
This clock will silence the chimes late at night, hence the reason for the AM/PM buttons.
I learned this by just expermenting with one that I fixed for my friend. I could not find a instruction shhet anyplace for this clock.

the same clock was just given to me and it won't chime either. I love the clock and it runs great. How did you get it fixed?
