Renault Megane 1.6 16v 1999?

Hi All, My fuel light was constantly on, with no reading from the fuel gauge. Driving today and the car just shut off, and now the car would not start. Tested the spark plug for a spark, and it's firing OK. There is no noise coming from the fuel pump, don't know were the relay is located. Wanted to know could it be the Fuel pump, crankshalf sensor? or the ECU...

Fuel pump is in tank. They can and do pack up.
If everything is quiet in the car, turn ingition on but don't crank engine. You should be able hear pump run for a couple of seconds.
If it doesn't make a noise and fuel guage is also faulty then I would be looking at pump or pump connections first.
