how to fit whale water inlet?

Hi
I have just bought a new whale water inlet as my old one is frost damaged, can some one tell me how to disconect the cold water pipe from the back of the old one. It is supposed to be push pull, but i have pushed pulled twisted every which way but cant git it off.
