hi I am in mental ruins here and drasticaly need help. my nightmare began with problems selecting gears which turned out to be a badly worn clutch plate and knackered dual mass flywheel. replaced with all brand new parts and rebuilt the van, bled up the system and had what felt like a perfect pedal except the bite point is now at the very top of pedal and the clutch slips badly. so I dedcided to strip back down and recheck my work, everything seems ok and is fitted correctly. can anyone please help me with any ideas to what might be wrong? thankyou
thanks guys. I have had two new clutch kits on both from the same manufacturer although not genuine parts. I have also tried two slave cylinder/release bearings. the clutch friction plate felt tight enough when the gearbox was off. i will take a look at the master cylinder next and see if theres any problems there. any ideas how difficult they are to do?

i would have thought a badly worn clutch plate would have made gear selection easy,are you sure clutch is exactly same as worn one, is there any way you can check that there is play between clutch release and cover?,also check where pushrod fixes to master cylinder in cab,they have a fault where rod pushes through metal cap-check its not being caused by a faulty repair to this

would make sure you have the correct clutch fitted,two or three different kinds for these and also replace the release bearing too if not done already,would seriously think of getting genuine vauxhall clutch if you haven`t done already,one way to check is to remove then refit the clutch and take note to see if there is plenty tension and movement on the fingers on the cover when you tighten down the cover bolts
