how do I re-attach the metal crossover bars securley to the garage door?

The cross over bars have come away from the metal garage door. They have ripped from the screws and the door doesn't lift up in a straight line as a result.

drill new holes and use either pop rivets or self tapping screws do this to patch the door first if it needs it
