Mend Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V Speed

Whats Wrong with it?

I have a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V. For the past month the car has been misfiring. It mainly happens when I'm picking up speed. The engine management light has not came on, but the Mechanic still put it on the computer and it reported random misfires. I had the EGR changed in May 2010 and the coil pack was done in July 2010. Any ideas to what could be causing misfires?
