i whole heartedly agree with k ...my money would be on the plug behind the panel under the grill...can't remember off thge top of my head ,but there may also be a mega fuse tucked down the back of the batteries,and good old corrosion again takes hold

is there power in battery/s ,if so lift front flap and remove the plastic panel in middle [i think there are 6 10mm headed fixings] check wiring connections behind the panel-bad for corroding here,.also check all alternator connections especially the ones that are fixed to alt casing. make sure that connection from ign switch on dash pcb is good ,tend to get warm and can cause poor connection with a lot of use!
