accenta g3 alarm?

I tried to change my user code,I pressed PROG,entered my current code, but I did not read the intructions right and didn't key the number '8' I entered the new code 5689, the alarm went off, I just kept entering numbers and eventually the alarm stopped. I reset it, then keyed in 5689 but again the alarm went off. I tried entering my old code but the alarm still went off.Basically I have no idea what i have done, i think i must have chnaged the code but i don't know what to. When I key in the first 3 numbers of my origianl code the alarm starts bleeping, so could it be those 3 numbers plus one other that I don't know yet. Would the alarm code have changed even when I didn't enter the '8'? Please help.

We have installed over 1800 Accentas to commercial and domestic properties regular correct maintenance is the key. Make sure battery is changed every two years at least. If the alarm panel is situated in an airing cupboard this drains battery life. Dont forget most sensors are pirs so movement will set it off. Xmas decs, balloons and yes spider webs. Keep them away from heat sources also.

I have 2, one in the business and one in the house. The one in the business goes off by itself - 2.30am NOT FUNNY and the one in the house won't set to alarm, useless

Neither is 5 years old and the installer has just told me they are out of date and will need replacing!!!!!

To say they are CRAP is an understatement. To say, get a new one is wrong - get ANOTHER MAKE is correct!!

Pretty flipping upset - but then they are English, so what to expect? I am English by the way.

i had similar problem and the installer recently checked it out. the problem was that tiny insects get inside had got within the sensors. you need to dismantle the sensors and give them a thorough clean.
also a powercut will trigger the system if the main battery is on its way out

I personally installed an optima G3 (same model without remote). The link to the installation manual is below. First of all - dont trust the companies - The issues can be complex. As it's about an hour the issue probably lies with one of the PIR's as the contact break switches tend to give instant results. Do you have any pets? It might be worth setting up a walk test for your system then seeing if anything triggers by itself then you can troubleshoot from there. Otherwise make a half attempt by omitting the PIR's when you set the alarm and seeing if that causes it.
Another thing worth thinking about is how good your battery is. If you've got an old one and it's not too clever, a small drop in voltage can be a cause.

I have one of these alarms in my house, newly installed last September 05. I accidentally cut a wire in the attic while installing insulation, and now no-one seems to be able to fix it. In fact a security expert told me that the entire system is crap - and I should get a new one. He said it isnt compliant with noise pollution regulations because it will keep going off at the slightest problem. I dont really know what to do, I try the phone number supplied on the instruction manual and its always engaged. I can only suggest that you try and get a better quote and get it fixed. As mine dosnt seem to be able to be fixed I will probably invest in a better one when I can afford it.
