i put wd40 on my brake caliper pistons before and they are fine and still work good its ok as long as you dont get it on the pads.my mate uses red rubber grease on his speed triple caliper seals and it says thats what you should use in his manual.i have a triumph america.

Hi Mick, NEVER use anything else but clean brake fluid on brake pistons and then only a thin film to help ease the piston through the seal, WD40 is petroleum based and could have an adverse effect on the piston seals, not worth the risk, in my opinion mate.

im pretty sure you can do it without taking the wheel out, they have two pad pins holding the pads in,so firstly take the two pad pin blaking plugs out they are two little flat metal plug you need a flat headed screwdriver to take them out, then undo the two pad pins they should be undone using a 5mm allen key once these are out you will see two bigger bolts either 8mm allen bolts or 10mm i cant remember undo these and the caliper will slide off the disc clean the pistons as best as you can and then push them back into the caliper you can put a sqirt of wd 40 on them if you want to help them in,then fit the new pads and do the pads pins up handtight refit the main caliper mounting bolts and then tighten the pad pins up properly and then refit the blanking plugs.
