There is probably a capacitor attached somewhere near the motor.if this becomes weak it will not allow the motor to start up and the heavier the load the worst it gets!
remove the lid so you can see the drum.BE CAREFUL!!.start the tumble dryer running with a load in.If the drum will not start try pushing the drum around by hand and see if the drum then rotates by itself.BE VERY CAREFUL doing this BUT it will prove that the capacitor attached to the motor has failed and needs replacing
