you have low fuel pressure and when you disconnect the m prop valve it starts runs like a bag of spanners and you get a engine warning on the dash ???
you probably have one or more defective injectors, disconnecting the m prop valve gives max fuel rail pressure ,hence it statrs...
you can firstly make sure the gland nuts that hold the injector tube are tight 50nm ,as if loose fuel can leak by and erode the ends ....there is a leak off test that you can do ...you would need a piece of plastic pipe with a john guest fitting that you connect to the leak off at the rear of the cylinder head and a nut that fits on the fuel rail, and a blank to fit on the leak off pipe
so remove no 1 injector pipe fit blank nut on the rail where the pipe was ,fit the pipe you have on the leak off connection at the back of the head ,and fit the blank on the actual leak off pipe ,some times you may get away without fitting the latter ,start engine ,measure leak off .max is 30 ml in 1 min ..if for example when checking no1 you get 60ml and when checking no2 you get 20ml ,no2 is at fault ,you replace that injector and carry out the test again starting at no1 ,as you probably have more than 1 injector failed...
another item to check is the prefilter at the tank ,strip it down and check for debri in the housing and pipe fittings
