Hi folks, after scouring the forums for IITronics and trying to sort out my brother's "No Files" problem when tracks downloaded onto MP3, this is what worked for me. Excuse simplistic language all you Techno Wizards!

1. FORMAT THE MP3 PLAYER
Plug MP3 into computer.
Open up "My Computer"
Point to "Removable Disk F" with mouse. Right click
On the list, select "Format"
Look down the new list. Make sure under "file system" FAT32" is selected with the arrow (NOT just FAT)
Make sure there's NOT a tick in the box next to "Quick Format"
Click START at the bottom.
It will ask if you're sure you want to delete everything. If you are, click "OK"
The computer will now clear everything off your MP3 player.

2.Next you have to CREATE A NEW FOLDER ON THE MP3 PLAYER
to download your tracks into
Keep MP3 plugged into your USB socket on computer
Open "My Computer" on your computer
Find "Removeable Disk F" and right click it. Select "Open"
A new screen opens up.
On the left side, under "File and Folder Tasks" click on "Make a new folder"
An icon with a new folder appears with a blank tab for you to type in the name of it. I called it "New Music Folder" but call it whatever you like.
This is the folder you need ready on the MP3 to copy your tracks into.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COPYING TRACKS ONTO MP3 PLAYER
Put computer on. Open up Windows Media Player. Stick CD you want to copy into the CD drive. Copy CD onto computer by clicking "RIP" at top of page. It will tell you as it does each track and tell you when it's finished. Close Windows Media Player.
Open up "My Documents". Look for the folder called "My Music" and open it with a double click. You'll see the CD album that you've copied. Double click this to open the list of individual tracks. If you want them all on your MP3, highlight them all. If not, highlight the first one you want.
On left of screen look for window that says "File and Folder Tasks". Click "copy this file". It opens up a window with a "tree" or "map" of your computer
Plug MP3 player into computer into the USB socket.
On the tree, as the computer recognises your MP3 player, it will do a "dong ding" and a new bit will appear on the tree: "Removable Disk F" Click on it.
Folders in your MP3 are now shown on the list. Click the lower one that YOU made eg "New Music Folder" (NOT the one that says MUSIC)
Now click "copy" (middle button at bottom of the square small screen)
Your track will now be transferred onto the MP3. Repeat this for each track. Your MP3 can only cope with lots of individual tracks copying onto it. If you copy the album on without opening up the album first while it's in the computer, your MP3 wont recognise it.

Now unplug your MP3 player. Click the round ON/PLAY button. Then push in/down on the slidy button at the top. You should see the name of your first track on the screen. Press the PLAY button again. Listen. Hooray!! To move from track to track quickly, slide the slidy button backwards or forwards.

Collegues daugther got one of these off ebay and had same symptoms of being unable to see MP3 or WMA from the device itself. Solution that worked for me was to do a complete reformat of the flash drive from windows. Maybe previous owner did a quick format and the firmware didn't like it... full format solved it anyway

Re Barry's problem below, "unknown format" message - I had this when I added an MP3 from a Mac computer. This is because it also adds a tiny hidden file starting with a full stop (period). This player is only designed to work with Windows computers. If you put the player on a Windows computer you can see and safely delete that tiny file (and any others that start with a full stop. After that it should play fine.

I Have The Exact Same Problem. When I Go On To The Msic Section It Comes Up With 'NO FILES'. The simple solution is to format the player. Go Onto My computer, right click on the removable file and left click format. Then once on that, make sure the 'File System' says FAT Then Look at the bottom and check the 'Quick Format' box is clear.(it should have NO tick in). Then Click Start. And wait for it to load. Once done make a new folder called music. Then just put your music in there!!!!!! IT WORKS

THERE'S ONE SIMPLE WAY TO RESOLVE EVERY ONES ISSUES AND THAT IS TO CONVERTE ALL YOUR MUSIC FILES THAT YOU WANT TO UPLOAD ON YOUR MP3 PLAYER, AND CONVERTE TO MP3 FORMAT. TO DO THAT TRY THIS WEB SITE, (WWW.nch.com.au/rip) and download, ''switch sound file converter'' that should give you the capabilities to sort it out, and its free,

I'm a doddery old b*gger, but have had no problems with my IMP 65 4GB Player. I do not use files, but prefer to use random play for my music. As long as you use mp3 player settings ( especially if you have vista as your operating system ) all seems o.k. If you run vista, press alt to reveal the menu. Then click tools, choose options, and click rip music tab. then remove check mark from copy protect. This should allow you to transfer music without problems. To play, just fire up the player using the start button, when it settles ( showing track playing ) briefly press the start button again. Hopefully, happy days.

Hi,
I have a 2Gb II Tronics, it was working fine untill i tried to add a album folder, from then on everytime i switched on my player i kept getting a NO FILE FOUND message, i formatted the player added more files and kept getting the same message.. and today i formatted it again added several mp3 tunes straight to the drive not in any folders, still i got the same message, THEN I PRESSED AND HELD THE M KEY AND THE play/pause BUTTON FOR SEVERAL SECONDS (Together), and now it WORKS! i can add and delete mp3s with no probs.. wierd uh?

WORKED FOR ME, WORTH A TRY.

ps.. i pressed the M key first held it for couple of seconds before i pressed and held the play/pause button, holding them both for couple seconds.

Go to my computer > right click on your removable disk and click on format (make sure it on FAT and not quick format). Then add an mp3 files folder and stick your songs in there.

NOTE : Click the play button to turn the iitronics mp3 player on then click the songs changer in for bout 4 secs to click onto MSC.

I got this player recently, and after a lot of messing about and thinking it was rubbish, I suddenly realised:the player is okay, it works well....it's the manual that comes with it, that is rubbish!
It does not explain things clearly, or in the right sequence.Once you figure when to press/hold the MODE button and the PLAY button, in the right order, it's fine!

I consider myself quite a technical person but it did take me 3 days to find a solution for this. My player kept showing 'no files' and i do not copy protect my music so i knew it weren't this. I did as BTDe said above. Hold m until play music comes up and then click m again and then it should work

Thanks BTDe :)

yep, Pressing M-key twice works. When you turn ON the player, Just press the M key and hold it until the functional section appears showing "play Music" on the screen and then press the M key again in this mode, however in some cases when you have used copy and paste method and stored a whole folder or file/files in the player, press the M key on the second time when you actually roam to the folder in the player. Simply press and hold the M key when you turn on the player, when it shows "Play Music" press Next key again and again until "Folder" appears on the screen, press the M key now and your player will hopfully read the files and start playing again. Any questions, I will be glad to answer.
(thanking James for his inspiration)

I had awful problems with mine, it said files were in an unknown format, or they appeared and disappeared from the player or the file had no authority and refused to play,
I tried all the suggestions from you guys- thanks I was beginning to think i was techno challenged. None worked for me and so I held back from the 2lb hammer-though sorely tempted! and went back to Argos and changed for a different player alogether.
Argos needs to consider stocking this brand again as so many of you seem to have had problems

I have just bought an IMP-65 and had the same problems as you all, spend hours downloading only to have the fault "No Files". I tried unchecking the security box in Windows Media Player and formating the IMP-65 without success.I was starting to think I had wasted my money but a friend who works with computers said to bypass WMP. Basically WMP will tell you what it wants to do,not what you want it to do. Save the music to a folder on your PC then plug in the IMP-65, open up the IMP and the music folder then drag and drop.

Yippee, it works.

Hi All,
A Friend gave me his yesterday to have a go with, he was having the same problems with all his music files not showing up. The simple solution is to format the player. My computer, right click on the removable file and left click format. Then transfer your music files to the player. The player is now working fine.

I have just bought two of these for each sprog for christmas. Initially neither worked, this turned out to be because the cd,s were protected when I copied them onto windows media player. To get round this first click on tools, then options, then the copy music tab & then uncheck the protect content box.

You will now need to re copy the cd, if you just try to send the song to the mp3 player now that you have unchecked the box, it still wont work, delete & re copy that cd!

After this, one mp3 player worked ok but the second didn't. On viewing removable disc E it showed all my lovingly copied tracks all neatly put into seperate folders but when I attempted to play any of them my mp3 player just said "no file" aaahhhhh!

Do as the previous guy said (James), it works!!!!!!!!!!! I now have two fully operational IMP-65 iitronics MP3 players. Bring on Christmas!!!!!!!!

P.S Thanks James.

Took me ages to get mine working and the symptoms described were the same.

Eventually I got to play the music i'd put on the player after i'd selected M, then M again when it was showing 'Play Music'.. then whereas it was saying 'no file' all my files appeared (Oh and I thought for a while the problem was not having the WMPinfo.xml file)

Oh wow. I'm not the only one then... the worst thing about this DRM is it refuses to play some CD's i have bought and only have one copy of, yet stuff i borrowed from mates goes unchallenged...

the issues are easy to resolve, just call the support line - 0871 7800079.

The main issue is Windows media player may be set to copy protect any music you burn, hence when you are trying to play back it will not are the MP3 player is not DRM.

Go to tools on win media player , then options and make sure you disable the copy protect feature, once this has been done you will need to re burn your tracks again.

trust this helps, if not then call the number above which is the Inovix support line
