White Knight checked the button ok?

mains off.lid off.element in the back is a round dual element.2 terminals are linked.with a meter from the linked terminals to the other 2 terminals should be around 59 ohms across each of the terminals.red reset stat should be closed circuit across the terminals.stat further down back panel (black/grey wires?) should be closed circuit.Where you removed the bottom panel to fit the capacitor to the motor is another stat attached to the front plastic ducting,again closed circuit through terminals
